Nowadays most of the smartphones are powered by Android, which is another Google product. Each smartphone produces its own features, but Google also packs some extra software on Android which is also useful. Applications like Google Maps, Photos, Google Drive are some of them that come preinstalled with Android devices. Google Helper, like Apple’s Siri, is another Google-owned AI-powered Virtual Assistant. Although Google support is helpful in many ways, most of us do not use it regularly.
There is even a dedicated button that you press for a few seconds and Assistance pops up to handle your questions and helps you. This button may be for quick access to Google Helper, but it is accidentally changed several times a day. It can be annoying at the time when you do not need it and it starts working only by a slight press or touch. So, here we are going to show you how to turn off Google Assistant from your Android device for the best.

How to Turn Off Google Assistant on Android Device
Now, I’m using Samsung Galaxy S8 running on Android 8 Oreo to show you how to disable Google Helper. With the difference in the first stage, the steps in all other Android devices will be similar. Without further ado, let’s start.
1. Open Google Assistant
Press and hold the Home icon at the bottom of the screen It can vary by device, some will have a hard press button while others have on-screen buttons, but the method is identical. This will open the Google help menu.
2. Select Explore
On the Google Helper page, select the compass icon on the right to open the navigation page. If there is no compass icon tap on the drawer icon on the left side.
3. Open Settings
Now, in this Explore page, select three vertical dots in the upper right of the screen. After that select the Settings.
4. Go to Assistant Options in Settings
To go to the Assistant tab, tap inside the settings menu or swipe to the left. At the bottom of this tab, you will see accessories and under it, your device will be mentioned, either as a phone or your device model name. Select the Phone.
5. Settings for Assistant
After this, you will be accessing the assist menu. To disqualify Google Assistant, change the toggle bar in front of the first option i.e. Google Helper.
This will close Google Assistant and all its features will stop and after pressing the Home button there will be no more popups.
6. Enabling Google Assistant
If you want to enable Google Assistant again, simply press and hold the Home icon or the Home button, then select TURN ON from the POP menu and the Google Assistant will turn back on.
