Deslide – Slide shows on webpages get really frustrating when you are reading something on the internet. You’ve probably read an article that is divided into several numbers of slideshows?
If you have, you know what I mean. If you do not know what a slide show is, let me tell you that sometimes when you go to a website to read an article, you cannot read the entire article on the same page.
Instead, they will ask you to go to the next page to read the next part. By the time you read the entire article, you have already left ten pages. These types of slide shows usually appear on viral articles shared on social media platforms.
While this can be a nightmare for a reader, it is very beneficial for the point of view of the publisher or web owner. By doing this they generate more revenue and get more views per page leading to more advertisements. This is why some websites have included slide shows in their articles.
If you are like me, who just hate slideshows to disrupt the entire reading experience, then luckily, there are some methods, tools, and tricks available on the Internet that can completely remove slideshows and keep them in one Can change in the page. This process is called Deslide and we are going to tell you how you can design a website in various ways.
Ways to Remove a Slideshow from a Website
1. Using a web app
There is a quick and easy way to do this using a web app and these are the simple steps you need to follow:
- Copy the URL of the webpage you want to design.
- Next, go to http://deslide.clusterfake.net/
- Paste the URL into the Slideshow URL box.
- Select the combination under the display box you want to see in the output webpage.
- Finally, click on Deslide! The button and your webpage will be displayed on the same page with no slides.
Note: You can use your +/- or = / – keys to move from slide to slide.
2. Converting a webpage to a printable format
Printfriendly is the name of a website that easily converts your slideshow article into a printable single page format. Here is what you need to do.
- Copy the URL of the website that contains the slideshow.
- Go to Printfriendly
- Now you paste the URL in this box and press the preview option to read your article.
Now the entire article will be shown to you without any slideshow or advertisements. Once it is converted, you can also print it or convert it to PDF for later reading.
3. Adding PageZipper bookmarklet to your browser
You can view all the slides on a page by adding the PageZipper bookmarklet to your browser. It is also available as an extension for Chrome and Firefox browsers. You can get the CRX files of the Chrome extension if necessary.
What this extension does is it combines all the slideshows of the article into one webpage. Follow these simple steps to add PageZipper to your browser:
- Visit the PageZipper website
- Drag and drop the PageZipper bookmark into your bookmark toolbar.
- Now whenever you go to the slideshow website, press the PageZipper bookmark from your bookmarks bar.
Note: If you are unable to see your bookmarks bar, go to bookmarks and click on show bar bookmarks or press Ctrl + Shift + B.
4. An alternative method of desalting
There are some websites that give you the print option on their website to convert your article to a printable version. In that case, click on print once, when you will get to read all the article pages in one window. Sometimes sites will try to print the article, so you need to cancel the print operation and read the article in printable form.
Alternatively, if there is no print option on the website, press Ctrl + P and read the print preview. In addition, you can also select Save as PDF option to download it in PDF form. You can also protect PDF if you want. Remember that this method only works when the web owner is using left-right links as slideshows.
These were some of the ways we could design a website. All these methods were tried by us personally, so every method definitely works. Even if no one works for your desired website, try another. We found PageZipper to be the most convenient use of bookmarks because it requires only a one-time effort.
